Xiaomi Accelerates: 500,000 EVs Delivered in 19 Months, Revenue Soars to $4.10 Billion

Xiaomi’s automotive division isn’t just entering the EV market, it’s absolutely dominating it. In a little over a year and a half, specifically 19 months, they’ve managed to deliver half a million vehicles, a staggering accomplishment that shows just how serious they are about electric mobility. Their official Weibo account confirmed this massive milestone, alongside news that November deliveries alone topped 40,000 units.

Breaking down the numbers, Xiaomi has already blown past its original 2025 annual delivery target of 350,000 vehicles, proving that strong demand and efficient production are a winning combination. This success has propelled their EV and AI related revenue to an impressive $4.10 billion in the third quarter of 2025.

From Smartphone Giant to Automotive Powerhouse

Xiaomi kicked off its EV journey with the sleek SU7 sedan, launching on March 28, 2024. Production rapidly scaled up, with the Phase 1 plant running double shifts to keep up with demand. Soon after, on June 26, 2024, the YU7 electric crossover hit the market, a direct challenger to vehicles like the Tesla Model Y. This crossover, built at the Phase 2 factory, has quickly become a star player in Xiaomi’s lineup. Currently, Xiaomi Auto boasts an annual production capacity exceeding 350,000 vehicles, a testament to their rapid industrialization.

Initially, getting your hands on a Xiaomi EV meant a bit of a wait. YU7 buyers faced lead times of up to 62 weeks. However, as production capacity ramps up, those waiting periods have significantly shortened. Now, you’re looking at 32 to 38 weeks for the YU7, 6 to 31 weeks for the SU7 sedan, and a mere 6 to 9 weeks for the sporty SU7 Ultra. The 500,000th vehicle to roll off the line was a YU7 Max, sporting a striking Emerald Green finish, optional carbon fiber exterior, 20-inch wheels, and those eye-catching four-piston yellow brake calipers. This top-tier YU7 Max, priced at about 362,900 yuan ($51,050 USD), packs a serious punch with all-wheel drive, delivering 508 kW (681 hp) and an impressive CLTC range of 760 km. Its dimensions measure in at 4999/1996/1600 mm.

Dominating the Market and Expanding Horizons

Xiaomi’s market performance is nothing short of spectacular. In October 2025, the company logged 48,654 retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles, as reported by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). The YU7 alone accounted for 33,662 wholesale units, impressively outselling the Tesla Model Y’s domestic deliveries of around 26,100 units for the first time, a fact highlighted by ECC Intelligence Bureau. With cumulative YU7 sales now over 70,000 units, Xiaomi is a force to be reckoned with. In the broader Chinese market, which saw about 2.24 million passenger vehicle retail sales in October, Xiaomi stood tall among the top-selling new-energy vehicle manufacturers. The YU7 emerged as one of the best-selling mid-size pure electric SUVs. Analysts agree Xiaomi’s rapid entry into the EV segment owes much to its seamless integration of in-house software and consumer electronics, especially appealing to a younger, tech-savvy demographic.

Financially, Xiaomi Group’s 2025 third-quarter report painted a rosy picture. Total revenue soared to 113.1 billion yuan ($16.0 billion USD), marking a 22.3 percent year-on-year increase. Adjusted net profit followed suit, jumping 80.9 percent to 11.3 billion yuan ($1.60 billion USD). The smart electric vehicle and AI segments contributed significantly, bringing in 29.0 billion yuan ($4.10 billion USD) in revenue for the quarter. Research and development spending also saw a substantial boost, rising to 9.1 billion yuan ($1.29 billion USD) in Q3, with projections for full-year R&D to exceed 30 billion yuan ($4.23 billion USD).

Looking ahead, Xiaomi Auto has upped its 2025 delivery target to over 400,000 vehicles, signaling continued aggressive growth. Their global ambitions are clear, with plans to launch international sales in 2027, initially targeting the European market. As part of this expansion, a two-day test drive of the SU7 Ultra has already taken place in Germany, giving the brand a taste of what’s to come.
