Drivers, get ready! Avatr has announced that pre-sales for its updated 2026 Avatr 07 SUV will kick off on September 4, 2025. While full specifics are still under wraps, the buzz on the street — and from some rather revealing teaser posters — hints at a major upgrade: the integration of Huawei’s advanced ADS 4 intelligent driving assistance system.
Sleek Design, Smarter Tech
The 2026 Avatr 07 isn’t looking to reinvent the wheel when it comes to aesthetics. It appears to keep the stylish lines of its predecessor, and that’s a good thing. The real excitement is under the hood, or rather, in its brains. The focus here is clearly on configuration and technological leaps. With Huawei’s advanced ADS 4 system likely on board, we’re expecting a seriously smart ride.
For those unfamiliar, the Avatr 07 first broke cover at the 2024 Chengdu Auto Show. It marked a significant milestone as Avatr’s first model to offer both pure electric (EV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrains. It also embodies the “CHN” strategy, a deep collaboration involving Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL.
A Synergistic Powerhouse
This isn’t just a simple partnership; it’s a full-on fusion of cutting-edge tech. The current Avatr 07 already boasts impressive innovations. We’re talking about Changan Automobile’s Kunlun Smart Range Extender and Taihang Intelligent Control Chassis, Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0 and HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit, and CATL’s Shenxing 4C Supercharging Battery and Shenxing Super Hybrid Battery. The official poster proudly proclaims the vehicle is “Co-designed by Huawei Qiankun,” which highlights the deep integration and confidence in this collaboration.
It was one of the pioneers to feature Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0 and HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit. Plus, it was the first to use the 39 kWh Shenxing Super Hybrid Battery, a unit co-developed with CATL specifically for EREVs. This battery is no slouch, boasting peak discharge powers of 9C at full charge and a still impressive 7.7C at low charge.
Performance That Delivers
Current Avatr 07 models offer compelling performance. The pure electric variants provide CLTC pure electric driving ranges of 650 km and 610 km. For those who prefer the flexibility of a range extender, the EREV version comes with a 1.5T engine that delivers a maximum power of 115 kW.
Breaking down the electric drive, the two-wheel-drive EREV model features a single motor churning out a maximum power of 231 kW (310 hp). If you’re looking for more grip, the four-wheel-drive EREV model steps it up with a dual-motor setup: a front motor producing 131 kW (176 hp) and a rear motor kicking in 231 kW (310 hp).
Both EREV setups draw power from a 39.05 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. This provides CLTC pure electric ranges of 230 km for the two-wheel-drive and 220 km for the four-wheel-drive variants. With these specs, the Avatr 07 is designed to offer a blend of pure electric efficiency and the peace of mind that comes with an extended range.
The upcoming 2026 Avatr 07 looks set to continue this tradition, focusing on refining its technological edge and enhancing the driving experience, especially with the anticipated arrival of Huawei ADS 4. Keep an eye out for more details as September 4 approaches. This could be the next big thing in intelligent SUVs.
