BYD’s Yangwang Luxury Brand Set to Conquer the Middle East in 2026

Get ready, luxury car enthusiasts. BYD, the world’s leading NEV maker, is bringing its high-end Yangwang brand to the Middle East in early 2026. This isn’t just about new cars it’s about a whole new level of performance, technology, and sheer automotive excitement hitting the global stage.

Yangwang’s Grand Entrance

Yangwang burst onto the scene in China in January 2023, quickly establishing itself as BYD’s premier luxury division. From rugged off-roaders to sleek sedans and even the world’s fastest sports car, this brand is all about pushing boundaries. The U8 off-road SUV, with a domestic price tag of around 1,089,000 yuan (~150,000 USD), led the charge. It was swiftly followed by the U9 sports car, the elegant U7 sedan, and the commanding U8L SUV. China EV DataTracker reported some impressive numbers too, with Yangwang delivering 2,341 units between January and September 2025 within China alone. Now, it’s time for this powerhouse brand to go truly global.

Middle East Bound and Beyond

BYD Vice-President Stella Li confirmed that the Middle East will be Yangwang’s first international stop, kicking off its overseas expansion in early 2026. This is just the beginning though, with plans to introduce Yangwang to Europe and the Americas soon after. Li previously hinted that the UK market could see Yangwang vehicles as early as 2027, and there’s even talk of the Yangwang U8 gracing Brazilian roads at some point. It’s clear Yangwang is aiming for the top tier, ready to challenge established luxury players like Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Range Rover, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Ferrari.

Here’s where it gets interesting for the Middle East. The United Arab Emirates, specifically, is set to be the brand’s initial overseas market. BYD has partnered with Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility to bring the Yangwang U8 to the UAE, exclusively offering an “Arabian Edition.” This special version commands a price of 650,900 AED (177,230 USD), which positions it firmly against its rivals. To put that in perspective, a Range Rover in the UAE starts at 510,000 AED (138,870 USD). Yangwang isn’t just entering the market, it’s making a statement with its pricing.

What Drives Yangwang’s Ambition?

BYD’s aggressive move to launch Yangwang globally speaks volumes about the confidence it has in its luxury offerings. The brand isn’t just about opulent interiors or flashy badges, it’s also about cutting-edge electric vehicle technology, refined performance, and a driving experience that’s truly captivating. As Chinese EV makers continue to innovate at a rapid pace, brands like Yangwang are emerging as serious contenders on the world stage. Their commitment to high-end design, advanced features, and powerful electric powertrains means they are no longer just an alternative, they are a choice for discerning buyers worldwide.
