Geely’s Lynk & Co Unveils China’s First Homegrown TCR Race Car

Get ready for some serious track action, because Geely’s Lynk & Co is about to drop China’s very first independently developed TCR-specification production vehicle, the 03+ TCR. This isn’t just another car; it’s a statement, a bold move showcasing Chinese engineering prowess on the global motorsport stage.

Lynk & Co has a strong pedigree in Touring Car Racing, boasting an impressive 132 podium finishes and 7 championships over its nine-year history. This new 03+ TCR looks set to continue that legacy, with its development handled entirely by a dedicated Chinese team, from the initial engineering design and tuning all the way through to rigorous testing.

Performance on the Track

Under the hood, the 03+ TCR packs a punch with a 2.0-liter twin-turbo mechanically supercharged engine, unleashing a formidable 350 horsepower. This power is expertly managed by an Xtrac 1046 six-speed sequential transmission, complete with paddle shifters for lightning-fast gear changes. To keep all that power in check and maximize grip, it features an adjustable multi-plate limited-slip differential and a race-tuned adjustable suspension system. Stopping power is equally impressive, thanks to Mono six-piston monoblock calipers at the front clamping down on 380mm brake discs.

From the outside, you can tell this isn’t your average daily driver. The Flame Red production model screams performance, adorned with classic racing elements like a prominent front lip, functional hood vents, widened wheel arches, extended side skirts, and a truly imposing carbon fiber rear wing. It’s a visual feast for any racing enthusiast.

Track-Ready Interior and Lightweighting

While interior details are still under wraps, expect a no-frills, purpose-built cabin. The rear seats are likely gone, replaced by a factory-installed roll cage, making this machine track-ready right out of the gate. This focus on minimizing weight and maximizing safety is a clear indication of its racing intentions.

The current 03+ TCR Cyan model offers a glimpse into Lynk & Co’s dedication to performance with a price tag of 420,300 yuan, or about 59,000 USD. The Cyan variant takes lightweighting to another level, with revised door panel materials and the removal of rear seats, shedding weight to a svelte 1495 kg. It even skips front side airbags, head curtain airbags, and the head-up display system, further emphasizing its extreme track-focused nature. Plus, it rocks a three-stage adjustable gooseneck carbon fiber rear spoiler, Michelin CUP2 high-performance tires, and proper racing bucket seats for the front occupants.

A Racing Future

At the 2025 Auto Guangzhou Auto, Geely announced the formation of the “Geely China Star Team.” This team will see the new Xingrui TCR race car take the baton from the Lynk & Co 03 TCR, competing in the 2026 FIA TCR World Tour. Looking back, the Lynk & Co Cyan Racing team had an incredible run, securing both the Team and Driver championships at the close of the 2025 FIA TCR World Tour. It’s clear that Geely, through Lynk & Co, is serious about making its mark in the world of motorsport, and with the new 03+ TCR, they’re only accelerating that ambition. The future looks bright for Chinese automotive racing.

For those interested in how Chinese brands are making waves in the automotive world, the Lynk & Co 03+ TCR is a prime example of their growing capabilities and desire to compete at the highest levels. This is more than just a car; it’s a symbol of innovation and a thrilling prospect for racing enthusiasts worldwide.
