The Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) just dropped exciting news: their first multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) will be called the Luxeed V9. Get ready for a reveal in Spring 2026, with the market launch hot on its heels in the first half of that year. This isn’t just any MPV, it is poised to be a technical flagship, packed with Huawei’s cutting-edge automotive tech.
Now, about the name: the “V” in Luxeed V9 stands for Victory, and the “9” signals its status as a top-tier technical marvel within the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance. It promises to be a spacious and practical machine.
Design and Features
From what we have seen in leaked spy shots and official hints, the Luxeed V9 clearly prioritizes space. It is embracing that modern new energy MPV look with short front and rear overhangs and a long wheelbase. We even caught it charging at a Li Auto station in some spy photos, a sight that definitely got enthusiasts talking.
The exterior details offer a glimpse into its sophisticated design. Expect a full-width headlight upfront, a roof-mounted lidar sensor, and air ducts neatly integrated into the front bumper. The side profile shows off mechanical door handles, hidden sliding door rails, and those grippy Michelin tires. Cameras on the front fenders hint at advanced driver aids, and around the back, we are expecting full-width taillights.
Dimension-wise, this MPV is substantial, roughly 5300 mm long and about 2000 mm wide. The short front end and square body are all about maximizing interior space. Plus, those clever A-pillar triangular windows should definitely improve visibility and cut down on blind spots, making it a breeze to maneuver.
Under the Hood: Huawei’s Tech Powerhouse
Built on the E0X-L platform, the Luxeed V9 is a showcase for Huawei’s automotive innovations. It will feature the “Jujing” (Giant Whale) battery, an electric pop-up and soft-close front trunk, and a high-resolution 192-line lidar system. This vehicle is clearly pulling out all the stops to blend luxury with practicality. Huawei’s influence in automotive tech is truly expansive.
Powering this MPV will be an 800V silicon carbide platform. You can even see the perception hardware, including solid-state lidar, on the front of the vehicle. As a flagship model, it is a safe bet the Luxeed V9 will incorporate Huawei’s Qiankun Advanced Driving System (ADS) solution. This means four lidar sensors, supporting advanced L3-assisted driving capabilities. Advanced driver assistance systems are becoming a must-have in the Chinese EV market.
Powertrain Options and Battery Tech
The Luxeed V9 will hit the market with two distinct powertrain options: a pure electric (EV) version and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configuration. Both variants will get their power from batteries supplied by CATL, a major player in the battery world. CATL batteries are known for being cutting-edge, powering many modern EVs. The EREV version is expected to be the main draw for many buyers, offering an impressive pure electric range of up to 400 km. For those opting for the pure EV model, it is anticipated to pack a 100 kWh battery, ensuring robust performance and ultra-fast charging capabilities. This will be a significant factor for consumers looking at pure electric vehicles.
