Geely-backed Lynk & Co just made a huge statement. The first batch of its new 03+ TCR race car sold out almost immediately after launch, proving there’s a serious appetite for track-ready performance from China. This isn’t some special edition with new wheels and a sticker package. It’s a full-blown touring car, and it comes with a price tag to match: 1.40 million yuan, or about $192,000 USD.
To put that into perspective, a standard 2026 Lynk & Co 03 sedan tops out around $57,500. This machine is in a completely different league. It’s the first mass-produced TCR-spec touring car developed entirely by a Chinese brand, built for one thing and one thing only: dominating the track. It’s not even legal to drive on public roads.
More Than Just a Car
For that hefty price, buyers aren’t just getting a car; they’re getting an entry into the world of competitive racing. The purchase includes a “Champion Driver Masterclass,” a 40,000 yuan ($5,500) package that gives owners two hours of on-track instruction from championship-level drivers. It even comes with basic technician support to get them started.
Beyond that, Lynk & Co is throwing in a “Race Support Package.” This provides an engineer and a technician for TCR China and CTCC China Cup events, covering six race weekends a year. It’s an incredible offer that removes a major barrier for privateer racers, showing Lynk & Co is serious about building a motorsport community around its hardware.
Built for Battle
The 03+ TCR is based on the third-generation 03 sedan, but the similarities mostly end there. The chassis is stripped and rebuilt to meet official TCR regulations. Under the hood sits a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but it’s been given a serious power boost with a new turbo, better cooling, and a custom engine map. The result is a solid 345 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque, all sent through an Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters for brutally fast gear changes.
The car’s exterior screams its intent. A massive front splitter and fixed rear wing generate serious downforce, while the widened bodywork accommodates a track-focused suspension and beefy tires. To handle braking, the car gets six-piston front calipers clamping down on 380 mm ventilated discs. Inside, it’s all business, with a full roll cage, racing bucket seats, and other FIA-standard safety equipment.
A Statement of Ambition
While other Chinese automakers are making headlines with high-performance road cars, like the sub-4-second sedan from Dongfeng, Lynk & Co’s move into customer racing is a different kind of flex. It’s a signal of engineering confidence and a long-term vision.
The company has already stated that while the 03+ TCR is designed for sprint races, it’s also built with endurance events in mind. There’s even talk of tackling the legendary Nürburgring 24-hour race. Selling out the first run of a $192,000 track car is a powerful first step, proving that Lynk & Co isn’t just here to play, it’s here to win.
