Performance Meets Practicality
The Nio Firefly pure electric compact car, which first launched this April, enters the market with a super attractive price tag between 119,800 and 125,800 yuan. Don’t let its compact size fool you, this car is packed with clever features. A cavernous 92-liter front trunk, paired with rear seats that fold flat, opens up an impressive cargo space exceeding 1,250 liters. Talk about versatility! Under the hood a 105 kW (141 hp) permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 200 N·m of torque powers the rear wheels, lets this little car hit a top speed of 150 km/h. Plus, recent declarations indicate a 20 hp power upgrade for the new Firefly powertrain which you can see at Nio’s Firefly gets a power bump.
Clever Design, Built for Safety
Inside the Firefly, thoughtful design shines. A raised central armrest upfront creates a seamless pass-through, making it easy to hop in or out from either side. Below the front cup holders, a smart drawer system keeps your essentials tucked away. Plus, there’s a 50W wireless fast-charging pad with a non-slip groove, so your phone stays put and powered up. Nio even threw in a magnetic anchor system, ready for various accessories like tissue boxes, extra cup holders, glasses holders, or storage bins. It measures a neat 4003mm long, 1781mm wide, and 1557mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2615mm. But practicality doesn’t compromise safety: its body boasts an 83.4% high-strength steel and aluminum alloy composition, reinforced by extra-wide dual front anti-collision beams and dual front door anti-collision beams. And for ultimate peace of mind, it comes equipped with nine airbags. For a deeper dive into the Firefly’s safety features, check out Nio’s Firefly just proved small EVs can be super safe.
