Nio Group just hit a major milestone, clocking over 10,000 vehicle deliveries per week for two straight weeks. This is a first for the company and a seriously impressive feat in the competitive EV market.
Hitting these numbers means Nio’s performance in just two weeks outstripped its entire sales for October last year, when it recorded 20,976 units. While impressive, remember Nio’s chasing profitability this quarter. So, while 10,000 units a week is good, the real target is closer to 50,000 a month to really hit those financial goals. It is a tough ask, but with current momentum, it certainly looks possible.
Breaking Down the Numbers
Automotive insider Sun Shaojun spilled the beans on the breakdown. For the week of October 13-19, Nio Group sold over 10,000 units. The main Nio brand moved over 4,000 vehicles, while their more accessible Onvo brand really shined, pushing more than 5,000 units. The Firefly sub-brand, aimed at the compact segment, added another 1,500+ deliveries.
The following week, October 20-26, saw similar results, reinforcing the growth trend. Nio maintained strong figures with over 4,300 units, Onvo kept its pace with 4,500 units, and Firefly consistently delivered over 1,500 vehicles. These consistent numbers highlight strong market acceptance across Nio’s diverse portfolio.
Onvo L90 and ES9: Forward Momentum
The Onvo L90 has truly made an impact, racking up over 30,000 deliveries in just 86 days. That is a new benchmark for large pure electric SUVs in China, proving that size and efficiency can indeed go hand in hand.
Meanwhile, the new ES8 is also ramping up production. CEO William Li announced that monthly production for the ES8 should hit 15,000 units by December 2025. Demand is clearly outstripping supply. The current ES8 already has pre-orders exceeding 40,000 units for 2025 production. If you order an ES8 now, you’re looking at an April 2026 delivery date, even with the increased production capacity.
Looking further ahead, Nio is not slowing down. Li confirmed plans for the ES9, a new flagship SUV set to debut in Q2 2026. This beast is expected to be even larger than the current ES8, which is already the biggest pure electric SUV in China, measuring 5280x2010x1800mm with a 3130mm wheelbase.
Nio’s September deliveries were a record-breaking 34,749 units, marking a 64% increase year-on-year. This builds on August’s solid 31,305 deliveries, showcasing a steady, upward trajectory for the brand.
The Bigger Picture: Nio’s Profitability Push
Achieving profitability this quarter is a huge goal for Nio. While these weekly numbers are definitely moving in the right direction, hitting that 50,000-unit monthly target will be crucial. The fact that the company’s new ES8 and Onvo L90 are seeing such robust demand, despite extended waiting times, suggests an eager customer base. Furthermore, the global expansion of brands like Firefly into new markets should help drive additional sales volume. Nio is clearly betting big on its brand differentiation and advanced technology to carve out a dominant space in the incredibly competitive Chinese EV landscape, and these impressive sales figures show they are off to a good start.
