Nio’s Firefly EV is buzzing its way across Europe, making its debut in Greece, Denmark, Austria, and Portugal. This strategic expansion marks a significant push for the brand to cement its presence in the flourishing overseas electric vehicle market. The first deliveries of this sprightly electric hatchback have already landed with excited owners in Denmark and Greece, while customers in Austria and Portugal can now place pre-orders.
Firefly, Nio’s entry-level brand, is crafted with younger buyers in mind. It first ignited the Chinese market in April 2025, offering an attractive price point between 119,800 and 125,800 yuan (around 16,960 to 17,810 USD). For context, Nio has already delivered over 26,009 units of the Firefly in China from April to October 2025, according to China EV DataTracker. This isn’t Firefly’s first European rodeo, as it previously made inroads into Norway, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Firefly’s European Expansion: A Closer Look at Pricing
Firefly is clearly focused on making a big splash in European countries. On December 10, the company officially announced on social media that deliveries had begun in Denmark and Greece. In Denmark, the Firefly EV hatchback is priced between 209,900 and 229,900 Danish Kroner (roughly 32,680 to 35,800 USD). Over in Greece, drivers can expect to pay around 31,900 to 33,900 EUR (37,100 to 39,420 USD), depending on the chosen trim level.
Austria and Portugal are also joining the Firefly family, with pre-orders now open at prices ranging from 30,900 to 32,490 EUR (approximately 35,930 to 37,780 USD). Early birds who pre-order can snag the entry-level Firefly EV for a special price of 29,900 EUR (34,770 USD) in these nations.
Interestingly, Norway enjoys the lowest price for this BEV, ranging from 279,900 to 299,900 NOK (around 27,500 to 29,470 USD). This is largely due to Norway not being part of the European Union, which means no hefty 21% import duty. Even with that advantage, the Firefly EV is still around 40% pricier in Norway than in China. Speaking of sales, Elbilstatistikk reports that Firefly has delivered a modest 28 units in Norway so far in 2025. You can take a closer look at the competitive European pricing dilemma.
