At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, the Audi E7X made its official debut. As the second product under the new “AUDI” brand, this five-seater pure electric SUV offers both single and dual-motor configurations with multiple range options.
The exterior of the E7X features a closed grille design paired with an illuminated “AUDI” logo. The grille is surrounded by hidden LED lights in a dot-matrix pattern, while the daytime running lights sport a sleek, horizontal “one-line” design. The main headlight clusters are vertically integrated into the sides of the front fascia. The front bumper includes a trapezoidal cooling vent with a dual-stage design and active grille shutters. Additionally, the digital matrix LED headlights offer high-resolution projection and environmental communication capabilities. A LiDAR sensor is mounted on the roof for advanced driver assistance.
From the side, the E7X is equipped with perception cameras on the front fenders, which, combined with the LiDAR, optimize the driving assistance system for complex road conditions. The vehicle features wide wheel arches, giving it a powerful, wide-body stance. It sits on 22-inch 8-spoke wheels, though 21-inch options and three other designs will also be available. The model showcased features electronic side mirrors, though traditional mirrors remain an option. At the rear, the ring-shaped taillight assembly echoes the front design. The vehicle’s dimensions are 5,049 mm in length, 1,997 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,060 mm.
Inside, the cabin balances simplicity with a premium feel. A continuous triple-screen setup—comprising a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment display, and a passenger entertainment screen—dominates the dashboard. Small displays on either side of the main screens serve as monitors for the electronic side mirrors. The E7X runs on the all-new AUDI OS, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. The onboard “Audi Assistant” is deeply customized using ByteDance’s “Doubao” large language model, providing advanced semantic understanding and multi-turn dialogue capabilities.
In terms of performance, the E7X offers single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive variants. The single-motor version delivers 300 kW, while the dual-motor version boasts a combined output of 500 kW, reaching a top speed of 230 km/h (approx. 143 mph). Battery options include 100 kWh and 109.3 kWh ternary lithium packs. Depending on the configuration, the SUV offers multiple range ratings: 751 km (466 miles), 730 km, 705 km, 691 km, 660 km, 635 km, and 615 km.
The Audi E7X is a strategic pillar in Audi’s electrification shift, directly targeting mainstream competitors like the Tesla Model Y and NIO ES6. By offering more space, German-engineered driving dynamics, and luxury features, it aims to differentiate itself from rivals like the long-wheelbase BMW iX3 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC EV. This model represents a departure from the “ICE-to-EV” conversion path often taken by traditional luxury brands, focusing instead on localized R&D to compete in China’s cutthroat NEV market.
For the Audi brand, the E7X is more than just a new model; along with the E5 Sportback, it establishes a “Sedan + SUV” electric portfolio. This marks Audi’s transition from testing the waters to a full-scale offensive in the electric era. The decision to replace the classic four-rings logo with the illuminated “AUDI” lettering signals a radical design evolution. The success of this product line will likely determine whether Audi can maintain its position in the top tier of luxury brands as the industry shifts toward electrification.
