Following its initial sports car trademark filing back in February, Tesla has once again filed for a new trademark, this time featuring a diamond-shaped outline with the word “Roadster” embedded inside. This latest move adds fuel to the speculation that the long-awaited next-generation Tesla Roadster could finally enter production in 2027.
Given that the Tesla Roadster was first unveiled in 2017 and has yet to reach mass production, it has earned a reputation as one of the most notorious “vaporware” projects in the automotive industry. While a new trademark filing certainly increases the likelihood of the vehicle eventually hitting the assembly line, skepticism remains high until official production milestones are met.
According to previous reports, the new Roadster is expected to feature a radical design, potentially equipped with 10 rocket thrusters. Performance targets are nothing short of extreme, with a projected 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) acceleration time of less than one second. The vehicle is also rumored to boast a peak torque of 10,000 N·m, a maximum range of approximately 992 kilometers (616 miles), and a top speed of 400 km/h (248 mph). We will continue to monitor this story as more details emerge.
