Toyota has officially unveiled the GRMN Corolla, a track-focused evolution of the GR Corolla designed specifically to handle the rigors of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The “GRMN” moniker, standing for “GAZOO Racing Master of Nürburgring,” signifies a performance tier above the standard GR models, promising superior track capabilities.
The GRMN Corolla features an aggressive aerodynamic package derived directly from endurance racing and Nürburgring testing. Key additions include a vented hood, fender air outlets, front side spoilers, and a five-way adjustable rear wing, all fine-tuned by professional drivers to maximize downforce and stability.
Under the skin, the chassis has been extensively reworked. It features custom monotube dampers with rebound helper springs, optimized for the undulating surface of the Nürburgring. The track width has been increased, and the car now rides on 245/40 ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slick tires for enhanced grip. Furthermore, the EPS steering system and the all-wheel-drive system have been recalibrated to improve precision and rear-axle torque distribution during high-speed cornering.
Powering the machine is an upgraded engine producing 415 N·m of torque—an increase of 15 N·m over the standard GR Corolla—with a focus on mid-range punch between 3,600 and 4,800 rpm. To maintain consistent performance under sustained full-throttle conditions, Toyota has added an intercooler water spray system. Weight reduction was also a priority, with the removal of the rear seats resulting in a 30kg weight saving.
Inside, the cabin is strictly competition-oriented. It features custom GFRP full-bucket seats designed for optimal lateral support, a flocked dashboard and A-pillars to reduce glare, and a MORIZO-signed trim plate on the passenger side. Red anodized aluminum accents and a unique GRMN serial number plate further distinguish the interior.
The GRMN Corolla is slated for limited release in Japan, North America, and Australia, with Japanese reservations opening in autumn 2026 and a full market launch in 2027. Additionally, Toyota is developing a five-seat version, the GR Corolla MORIZO RR, equipped with the GR-DAT high-performance transmission, with details to follow.
