Arcfox Wendao V9 Luxury MPV Enters Pre-sale with Huawei Tech and Magnetorheological Suspension

On April 28, Arcfox officially commenced pre-sales for the Wendao V9, a strategic entry into the high-end MPV market. The lineup consists of four variants with subsidized pre-sale prices ranging from 21.99 to 28.69 million RMB ($30,350 – $39,600 USD). Built on the North Star all-digital premium architecture, the Wendao V9 is positioned as a “full-domain flagship MPV.” It features the Huawei Snow Owl intelligent silent range-extender system, a class-exclusive magnetorheological (MR) suspension, and the Yuanjing full-scenario intelligent driving system. Official delivery is expected to begin within the second quarter.

**Pre-sale Pricing and Incentives**

The pre-sale pricing structure is as follows:
– **1250 Max:** 22.99 million RMB ($31,730 USD) / Subsidized: 21.99 million RMB ($30,350 USD)
– **1250 Max+:** 25.49 million RMB ($35,180 USD) / Subsidized: 24.49 million RMB ($33,800 USD)
– **1330 Ultra:** 27.59 million RMB ($38,080 USD) / Subsidized: 26.59 million RMB ($36,700 USD)
– **1330 Ultra+:** 26.69 million RMB ($36,840 USD) / Subsidized: 28.69 million RMB ($39,600 USD)

Customers who place a 5,000 RMB ($690 USD) deposit during the pre-sale period can enjoy benefits valued up to 32,880 RMB ($4,540 USD). These include a lifetime warranty on the electric drive system, battery replacement if degradation exceeds limits within 8 years or 150,000 km, and a purchase tax subsidy of 10,000 RMB ($1,380 USD).

**Design and Exterior**

The Wendao V9 adopts the “ARC-FLOW” design philosophy, characterized by a wide, planted stance that balances flagship presence with aerodynamic efficiency. The front fascia is dominated by a vertical “Starfall” grille and pulse-lighting LED headlamps. The Arcfox logo is surrounded by radiating elements that create a distinct light signature.

From the side, the MPV features a sharp waistline and a floating roof design. The yacht-style D-pillar adds a touch of elegance, complemented by dual electric sliding doors and 20-inch multi-spoke wheels. Measuring 5,300 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,850 mm in height with a 3,200 mm wheelbase, it sits firmly in the large MPV segment. Its drag coefficient is an impressive 0.29 Cd.

At the rear, the 3D through-type taillights mirror the front design. Notably, the vehicle includes blue “intelligent driving indicator lights” on the side mirrors and rear, which illuminate when driver-assist systems are active. Nine exterior colors are available, including Lingyun White, Xuan Yan Black, and Mo Dai Green.

**Interior and Comfort**

The cabin follows a minimalist aesthetic centered around a massive floating display. Physical buttons are minimized, replaced by a sleek dashboard wrapped in soft-touch materials and accented by 256-color ambient lighting.

Utilizing a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout, the Wendao V9 offers a 77% space utilization rate and a low 400 mm floor height for easy entry. The second row features twin zero-gravity aviation seats with 124-degree recline, 16-point massage, electric leg rests, and graphene heating/ventilation. Passengers also have access to a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted screen, folding tables, and an 11L onboard refrigerator (-6°C to 50°C).

The third row is equally prioritized with 500 mm seat cushions and independent heating. With all seven seats occupied, the trunk still offers 360L of space, enough for seven 20-inch suitcases. For health-conscious families, the cabin uses formaldehyde-free materials developed with the Chinese Academy of Sciences to ensure “maternal and child-grade” air quality.

**Technology and Performance**

The Wendao V9 is the first production car in China to feature the Harman Ready Display. The 15.6-inch central screen uses Quantum Dot and Mini-LED technology, reaching 1,000 nits of brightness. Powering the cockpit is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775 chip, enabling 6-zone AI voice interaction and over 500 customizable scenarios.

Under the hood, the Huawei Snow Owl EREV system pairs a 1.5T range extender with a 227 kW electric motor. It delivers a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.9 seconds. Equipped with CATL batteries, the 1330 Ultra variant achieves a CLTC pure electric range of 310 km and a total range of 1,330 km. The battery supports 3C/4C fast charging, going from 20% to 80% in just 15 minutes.

**Chassis and Smart Driving**

The chassis utilizes a front double-wishbone and rear five-link all-aluminum independent suspension. Top-tier models feature magnetorheological dampers that adjust 1,000 times per second—significantly faster than traditional CDC systems. This setup, combined with a road-scanning “intelligent preview” system, effectively eliminates the “boaty” feel common in large MPVs. Despite its size, the turning radius is a nimble 5.7 meters.

For autonomous driving, the Yuanjing system supports City and Highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot). It can manage traffic lights, yield to merging vehicles, and navigate complex intersections or roundabouts autonomously. It also includes full-scenario automated parking for vertical, horizontal, and diagonal spaces.

**Market Outlook**

The Arcfox Wendao V9 enters a crowded field, targeting the 250,000 – 300,000 RMB ($34,500 – $41,400 USD) price bracket. While competitors like the Denza D9 and Voyah Dreamer often start above 300,000 RMB, Arcfox is leveraging a “value-based disruption” strategy. By offering Huawei-backed technology, advanced MR suspension, and CATL batteries at a lower price point, the Wendao V9 presents a compelling case for both business and family buyers seeking a premium electric MPV experience.
