BYD Teases Ocean-V Concept: A Bold Preview of the Next-Gen Ocean Series MPV

As the 2026 Beijing Auto Show approaches, BYD has released a teaser for its latest concept car, the Ocean-V. This vehicle serves as a design study for an upcoming MPV within BYD’s Ocean series. While the official production name remains a mystery, the concept offers a clear look at the brand’s future design direction for the premium family-mover segment.

True to its concept status, the Ocean-V features a futuristic and “airy” aesthetic. The cabin is remarkably transparent, boasting an expansive panoramic canopy and oversized side windows that maximize natural light. A prominent full-width light bar sits just below the windshield, where the BYD logo has been repositioned higher than on previous models. The split headlights on the front bumper incorporate a “star-matrix” design, a sophisticated lighting signature that is becoming a hallmark of modern EV design.

Moving to the side profile, subtle blue lighting integrated into the front and rear wheel arches suggests the inclusion of high-level autonomous driving capabilities and advanced sensor suites. The rear of the vehicle mirrors the front’s lighting signature, featuring a full-width light strip and vertical starlight-patterned elements that give the MPV a high-tech, premium presence on the road.

The Ocean-V is scheduled for its full official reveal on April 24. At that time, BYD is expected to disclose more technical specifications, interior details, and the core design philosophy behind this striking new MPV.
