On April 19, the EXEED EX7, the first strategic model of the brand’s 3.0 era, was officially launched. The new vehicle is available in six different trims, with prices ranging from 199,900 to 263,900 RMB ($27,600 – $36,400 USD). For those taking advantage of early trade-in offers before May 7, the price drops to between 194,900 and 258,900 RMB ($26,900 – $35,700 USD).
Positioned as a high-performance luxury large five-seater SUV, the EXEED EX7 is the first to feature aviation-grade EMB (Electro-Mechanical Braking). It comes standard with the Falcon 700 end-to-end assisted driving system, the AI Lingxi Smart Cockpit 2.0, and the Flying Fish Chassis 3.0. Customers can choose between pure electric (BEV) and extended-range (EREV) powertrains.
In terms of exterior design, the EXEED EX7 adopts a minimalist aesthetic typical of new energy vehicle brands. The lines are smooth and commanding, balancing a high-tech feel with a powerful presence. The front features a full-width LED daytime running light strip paired with split headlights. The front bumper is accented with dual chrome grilles for added sophistication, while a LiDAR sensor is mounted on the roof.
The side profile is defined by a sharp waistline that runs the length of the vehicle. It features hidden door handles and large alloy wheels, creating a sleek silhouette. The EX7 measures 4,988 mm in length, 1,975 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a generous 3,000 mm wheelbase that ensures ample interior space. At the rear, the full-width taillights mirror the front design, and a wide tailgate provides easy access to the cargo area. The vehicle is available in six colors: Star Sea Blue, Nebula Green, Star Flame Red, Star Night Black, Star Han Gray, and Star White.
Inside, the cabin is wrapped in extensive soft-touch materials and premium decorative panels. The minimalist theme continues with a simplified steering wheel featuring roller-style controls. The centerpiece is the AI Lingxi Smart Cockpit 2.0, which boasts a massive 30-inch 6K floating integrated display with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, the system offers lightning-fast response times. Audio is handled by a 2,880-watt, 23-speaker “Boya” sound system for an immersive experience.
The infotainment system debuts an S2S real-time large voice model with six distinct AI personalities, including a “Storyteller” and a “Professional Debater.” A Head-Up Display (HUD) projects vital driving information onto the windshield. For comfort, all trims come standard with ventilated, heated, and 36-point massaging seats. Rear passengers have their own climate control screen, and the vehicle includes a 9.2-liter onboard refrigerator capable of temperatures from -18°C to 50°C (-0.4°F to 122°F). Storage is plentiful, with a 668L trunk (expandable to 1,835L) and a 60L front trunk.
The Falcon 700 assisted driving system is standard across the lineup, utilizing 27 sensors—including LiDAR, millimeter-wave radars, and high-definition cameras—powered by the NVIDIA Orin-Y chip. This setup enables high-speed and urban navigation assistance (NOA) as well as multi-scenario automated parking. The system uses an end-to-end model architecture from WeRide, providing a human-like driving style that excels in narrow roads and congested traffic. Urban NOA is free for life.
The EX7 offers impressive performance across its two powertrain types. The EREV AWD version features a 1.5T range-extender system with a combined output of 377 kW and 642 Nm of torque, hitting 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds. It offers a pure electric range of 200 km and a total combined range of over 1,500 km (932 miles).
The BEV AWD version is built on an 800V high-voltage platform, delivering 353 kW and 663 Nm of torque. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Depending on the battery pack, the CLTC range is either 682 km or 726 km. Thanks to the 800V architecture, a 5% to 80% fast charge takes only 11.5 minutes. EXEED also plans to introduce semi-solid-state batteries by the end of this year.
The Flying Fish Chassis 3.0 includes an all-aluminum setup with CDC dampers and air suspension. A major highlight is the world’s first mass-produced pure Electro-Mechanical Braking (EMB) system on the AWD models. By replacing traditional hydraulic lines with electronic signals to control independent motors at each wheel, the system achieves a response time of just 90 milliseconds and a braking distance in the 33-meter range. This technology also improves energy recovery efficiency, extending the driving range by 2.5%.
The launch of the EXEED EX7 represents a significant step for the brand as it targets the global luxury market. With its advanced technical specifications and competitive pricing, the EX7 is set to challenge the status quo in the $30,000 – $40,000 luxury SUV segment.
