The updated Geely Galaxy A7 middle-to-large sedan was launched in China with BEV and PHEV powertrain variants. Its entry-level trim starts at 97,800 yuan (14,330 USD) before discounts. The all-electric Galaxy A7 boasts a 58.05 kWh battery and 550 km of range.
The Geely Galaxy A7 sedan initially entered the domestic market as a PHEV-only affordable sedan in August 2025. According to China EV DataTracker, Geely handed over 15,230 units of this model to clients domestically in Q1 2026. The sales volume fell by 59.4% Quarter-to-Quarter. The updated variant entered the market just in time as Geely aims to boost sales.
As mentioned, the updated Geely Galaxy A7 became available for purchase with two powertrain variants. They have noticeable exterior differences. The plug-in hybrid sedan has a more aggressive front bumper with a larger active air intake and decorative chrome-plated elements. It also has a bigger chrome-plated element that crosses the taillight unit.
The all-electric version of the Geely Galaxy A7 adopts minimalistic styling. It boasts hefty dimensions of 4935/1905/1500 mm with a wheelbase of 2,845 mm. For clarity, it is 17 mm longer and 5 mm higher than its PHEV counterpart. At the same time, the ground clearance of the A7 EV is 125 mm, which is 20 mm lower than the plug-in hybrid A7 EM offers.
Interior styling of both versions is similar. It offers a large 14.6-inch touchscreen powered by the Flyme Auto 2 operating system. Its core feature is a well-developed connectivity with Meizu phones. We will remind you that Geely acquired the majority stake in Meizu in July 2022. However, this phone maker confirmed it stopped the development and production of smartphones in February 2026. So, it is more of a drawback for Geely now.
Back to the interior of the Galaxy A7, it has a two-spoke double-D-shaped steering wheel with a gear shifter mounted behind it. There is also a thin LCD instrument cluster in front of the driver. The car’s center tunnel adopts a 50W wireless phone charging pad, a block of physical buttons, and a hidden compartment. The front seats offer heating and ventilation functions.
It is worth noting that the Geely Galaxy A7 EV has a slightly larger trunk with a capacity of 547 liters. The Galaxy A7 EM has 535 liters under the trunk lid. Both vehicles offer the Flyme Sound acoustic system with 16 speakers.
The Geely Galaxy A7 EM plug-in hybrid sedan has a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder under the hood. Its peak power is 82 kW (110 hp), which isn’t much. However, the core benefit of this ICE is a high thermal efficiency of over 47%. According to Geely, this number was reached due to the adoption of the AI-powered Geely EM Hybrid 2.0 system.
The A7 EM’s engine works in pairs with an “11 in 1” electric drive that integrates a one-speed DHT transmission and an electric motor for 175 kW (235 hp). The sedan speeds up to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. It has two CATL-made LFP batteries for 18.4 and 28.3 kWh. Its electric range lies between 150 and 235 km under CLTC conditions. The fuel consumption lies between 2.22 and 2.29 liters per 100 km.
The Galaxy A7 EV adopts a single electric motor in the front axle, producing 160 kW (215 hp). This e-motor is powered by a 58.05 kWh LFP battery. The Geely-backed Yaoning Technology Group produces this pack. The Galaxy A7 EV speeds up to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. Its CLTC range reaches 550 km, thanks to the low energy consumption of 11.4 kWh/100km.
The Geely Galaxy A7 EM plug-in hybrid sedan is available in five trim levels. Their prices before discounts are as follows:
