Geely Galaxy M7 Debuts: Compact PHEV SUV with Long-Range Battery and AI Tech Starts at $15,150

The Geely Galaxy M7 has officially hit the market, positioning itself as a competitive compact plug-in hybrid SUV. The vehicle is available in four trim levels, with an official MSRP ranging from 119,800 to 147,800 RMB (approximately $16,500 to $20,400). However, Geely is offering a limited-time promotional price starting at 109,800 RMB (approximately $15,150) up to 137,800 RMB (approximately $19,000). Built on the GEA Evo global intelligent new energy architecture, the M7 features the Thor AI hybrid 2.0 system, Aegis “Golden Brick” battery, Galaxy Flyme Auto 2, and the Qianli Haohan H3 intelligent driving solution.

The Galaxy M7 adopts the brand’s signature design language, characterized by a full-width daytime running light bar and a closed-off front grille. The headlights, dubbed “Flying Eaves, Tiger Gaze” by the manufacturer, draw inspiration from traditional Chinese architecture. The central light cluster integrates 362 individual LED beads. While the front bumper’s side air intakes are primarily decorative, they enhance the vehicle’s sporty aesthetic. The lower section features an active grille shutter that closes to reduce aerodynamic drag. Customers can choose from six exterior colors: Cloud White, Starlight Silver, Misty Grey, Midnight Black, Vast Blue, and Morning Green.

The vehicle features conventional door handles and includes a blue indicator light on the side mirrors to signal when driver assistance systems are active. In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy M7 measures 4,770mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,685mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,785mm.

The rear profile is dominated by a large, full-width taillight assembly that mirrors the design of the front headlights, with an embedded logo in the center.

Inside, the cabin is centered around a 15.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen powered by a 7nm Longying No. 1 automotive-grade chip. It runs on the Galaxy Flyme Auto 2 system, known for its smooth performance. The Hi Eva AI voice model enables natural, full-scenario voice interaction, while connectivity options include seamless integration with mobile ecosystems like Carlink and HiCar.

The intelligent driving suite, based on the Qianli Haohan H3 solution, utilizes 11 high-definition cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 3 millimeter-wave radars. It supports HNOA highway pilot assist, enabling automated overtaking, adaptive cruise control, and ramp navigation. The APA automatic parking system is capable of handling over 300 parking scenarios, including tight spaces, low-light conditions, and “dead-end” spots, while also supporting remote parking and mobile app-controlled maneuvers.

Under the hood, the Galaxy M7 is equipped with the Thor AI hybrid 2.0 system, pairing a 1.5L hybrid engine—boasting a thermal efficiency of 47.26%—with an electric motor. The engine produces 82kW and 136N·m of torque, while the electric motor delivers 175kW. All models come standard with a 29.8kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC-rated electric range of 225km. The system supports 78kW fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.
