New Denza N9 PHEV with Flash Charging and 420 km CLTC EV range to officially launch on May 18

BYD‘s Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition is scheduled for its official market launch on May 18, 2026. The vehicle has already entered its pre-sale phase, with prices ranging from 450,000 yuan (66,200 USD) to 500,000 yuan (73,500 USD). This new variant introduces the second-generation Blade Battery, flash-charging technology, and an upgraded AI-driven intelligent cockpit.

The Flash Charge Edition maintains the design language of the current Denza N9 lineup, characterised by a closed front grille and distinctive double-layer LED headlight units. The model is equipped with exclusive 22-inch mirror forged wheels.

Inside, the Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition offers a refined atmosphere with new colour schemes and premium materials, including real wood trim, metal tactile buttons, and a suede roof lining. The seats feature a new diamond-stitch pattern.

The vehicle utilises a 2.0T plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system paired with a sophisticated tri-motor setup.

Over the past 12 months, the sales of the Denza N9 hybrid in China peaked last April, with 5,018 units sold. Since then, sales have been on a steady decline; with the exception of a minor rebound in December, every month last year saw lower sales than the one before.

Moving into 2026, its monthly sales have plummeted even further to fewer than 1,000 units.
